A little bit of crochet

I haven’t made any cards worth sharing recently but here is a crochet project that I almost finished. I had learnt to crochet when I was a kid and mainly just made hair scrunchies.

Quite a while ago I got addicted to couple of really helpful crochet channels on YouTube. That inspired me to start crocheting again and this little pouch is one of the results I really liked😊

I cannot find the link to the exact video or page that has the instructions, but it’s basically just circle crochet with front post double crochet in intervals. The yarn is a variegated cotton yarn and I loved it so much that just kept it…admiring it for a long time before I actually put it to use.

I haven’t done the closure yet… I’ve attached a brad sort of thing from an old bag I think, and a small flap. I plan to use a thread with tassle for a string loop type closure, before my crochet craze fades away😊

Another vines and roses card

I seem to not be able to not use the Tim Holtz vines and roses stamp 🙂 This one has the worn lipstick distress oxide ink stamped. I then blended abandoned coral distress ink slightly from the edges and corners. They go together so well and I just love the pinkish peach look.

The ‘You’ is handwritten with a white gel pen…as clearly seen from the scratchily filled in letters 😶 I wanted to make it puffy by adding glossy accent or something but I usually end up messing the letters. I used a small vellum piece, blended some pink oxide ink on it and cut a heart to add the ‘miss’ word.

I think I’ll try blending these oxide and regular inks together on another card and see how it looks. This is another pic though the messy lettering looks more pronounced here😊

Paper craft and paperclips

My mom teaches little kids and they were doing a group song in her school yesterday. I made this quick little group of paper flowers with random Hindi letters written in the centres.

It was a song about the Hindi language hence the characters. She didn’t want anything too  elaborate and this was the final idea that she liked. It’s really simple but I loved how colorful and happy it looked having all those flowers together.

I don’t have a die cut machine yet so I just folded and cut some diff. designs to pass as flowers ^_^

And this below is what just popped into my mind when I saw my little paperclip box with the colourful clips. I used an app in my phone to add the phrase. wp-image-4610704 I love cute and colourful items and sometimes just can’t resist buying random fun things when I’m in a stationery store…pens and papers and tapes and boxes, it’s great when I find something really lovely ❤

I think I’ll end up using something like this on a card…maybe to a fellow stationery fan 🙂

Panelled cards with Distress Oxide inks.

My sister joined me in my crafty nook recently and she made this card using the Walnut Stain Distress Oxide ink. The sentiment is handwritten on vellum and attached with brads. All three panels are stuck with a bit of foam tape for some dimension. My pic though does not do it any justice.

wp-image--1047457050She also made this with the remaining panel from the last card and the rest is stamped with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink.

These oxide inks stamp really lovely. The pink color is vibrant and beautiful when it stamps and then it gets the oxide layer giving the textured look.

I also finished the background that was made sometime ago with Altenew blue green inks into a card. The sentiment is attached with foam tape.
